Day 1

Late Afternoon

Check into your hotel and get settled before heading to Downtown Lompoc to check out the famous Lompoc murals. You can find a complete map of the murals here.

Early Evening

Grab dinner at Floriano’s Mexican Food, visitors rave about their asada fries and tacos! Head back to your hotel to play in the pool or settle in for an early night to get plenty of rest for the days ahead!

Day 2

Morning

Have breakfast at your hotel or stop by the family-friendly One Room Coffee Shop for artisan coffee or tea and delicious breakfast or made from scratch baked goods to start your day off right.

Late Morning

Drive down Jalama Road, a beautiful scenic drive to Jalama Beach. During certain times of year (April-September) you can see beautiful wildflower blooms along this route. Stop for a while to snap a quick family pic before getting back on the road.

Noon

Arrive at Jalama Beach with a stop at the Jalama Beach Grill to try the famous Jalama Burger, proclaimed by Sunset Magazine to be “California’s Best Beach Burger.”

Afternoon

Spend the day enjoying the beach by swimming, boogie boarding, surfing, etc. If you choose to visit during the winter months, the winter swells uncover the rock and reef below the sand which creates a unique tide pooling experience that the kids will love!

Evening

Head back to your hotel and wash the sand and salt off after a day at the beach before heading to dinner at one of Lompoc’s many full service restaurants like La Botte Italian Ristorante or the Valle’ Eatery & Bar.

Day 3

Morning

You have a long day of fun ahead and it’s the perfect time to catch a hearty breakfast before you head out. Check out the popular American Host Restaurant for an American diner experience or the Cajun Kitchen Cafe for something a little more exotic. Grab some sandwiches for a picnic lunch at Central Coast Specialty foods, a Gourmet Deli & Market, before hitting the road to the La Purisima Mission!

Late Morning/ Noon

Arrive at the La Purisima Mission and take a self-guided tour through the historic mission. Little ones will love the farm animals that are still in the stables on the mission grounds. Plan to take a hike on the missions 25 miles of hiking trails! The Vista Del La Cruz Trail starts right behind the Visitor’s Center and leads up to the cross on the hill overlooking the Mission, about a half mile round trip.

Afternoon

Drive to the nearby Nojoqui Falls County Park near Lompoc. Utilize one of their picnic areas to enjoy your sandwiches before packing up for a short 15-minute hike to the hidden 100-foot waterfall! This is an easy stroll for all ages and is one of the only year-round waterfalls in Santa Barbara County. Take a family photo and let the kids splash around in the pond below.

Alternately, visit the popular Bodger Trail (Lookout Point) which boasts 130 degree views of Lompoc Valley!

Evening

Head back to town and enjoy the taste of Lompoc at Hangar 7 or the Solvang Brewing Company’s ‘Hoptions Taphouse and Brewery’, both popular eateries serving tasty food for the whole family and delicious, local wines and beer for the adults.
