Spring Itinerary: A Perfect Day in Lompoc

Morning

Start your day off with a delicious breakfast at one our our popular breakfast spots like the American Host Restaurant or the Cajun Kitchen Cafe. Afterward, spend the morning on a self-guided tour through mural alley either on foot or on a bicycle. For the more adventurous, take your bike on one of the many scenic Lompoc Cycling Trails.

Afternoon

For a relaxing afternoon, take a picturesque drive on Jalama Road through ranches and rolling hills to iconic Jalama Beach. Grab lunch at Jalama Burger for one of their world-famous sandwiches before making your way down to the beach. Winter storms unearth reefs and rocks from underneath the sand that form tidepools teeming with life at low tide. Explore the tidepools for a chance to see a vast array of sea creatures and spend the afternoon seashell hunting, swimming or just working on your tan.

From April through September, you can also experience Lompoc's Flower Fields where Stock, Larkspur, Delphinium, Queen Annes Lace, Bupleurum, and Bells of Ireland are just some of the flower varietals you can see. Snap a couple of picture perfect images before you head back to your home base in Lompoc.

For an afternoon with adults, include a visit to the Lompoc Wine Ghetto or one of the beautiful estate vineyards in the Sta. Rita Hills. With over 40 wineries on the Lompoc Wine Trail, discover extraordinary Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and other cool climate wines as well as popular sparkling wines at one of Lompoc’s enumerable destinations.

Evening

Enjoy a unique and memorable food and drink experience at one of Lompoc's local eateries or more casual dining at one of our wine bars, breweries or pubs. With Lompoc surrounded by so much open space, it's a perfect place for evening star gazing or time your trip to coincide with a space launch at Vandenberg Space Force Base.
