By Car
From points north
From San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, San Francisco, and other points north – take 101 south to Orcutt. Exit Union Valley Pkwy. Turn right onto E Union Valley Pkwy. Turn left onto Highway 1/135, heading south towards Lompoc/Vandenberg SFB. Exit Highway 1 to Lompoc/VSFB. At VSFB, turn left and head to Lompoc.
From points south
From Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, and other points south – take 101 north towards Buellton. After the Gaviota Pass tunnel, exit Highway 1 towards Lompoc/Vandenberg SFB, and enjoy 20-minute scenic drive to Lompoc.
From points east
From Bakersfield, the Central Valley, and other points east along Highway 99 or Interstate 5, take Highway 166 west to the 101. Go south on 101 to Route 246 in Buellton. Go west on 246, 30 minutes to Lompoc.
By Train
Amtrak
Surf Station near Lompoc is a regular stop on Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner, which travels between San Luis Obispo and San Diego, along the California coast. The Surf Station is an unstaffed rail stop, 10 miles west of the city of Lompoc. There is no bus service between the Surf depot and Lompoc; taxi cab service may be arranged to/from the station to local hotels.
By Air
Santa Barbara Airport (SBA)
SBA is the largest regional airport near Lompoc, with direct flights to major western U.S. cities including Denver, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Portland, San Francisco and Seattle.
