The Santa Barbara Vintners Celebration of Harvest Weekend is four days of wine and culinary experiences in Santa Barbara Wine Country, celebrating the annual wine grape harvest. Festivities take place at various wineries, tasting rooms and venues throughout Santa Barbara County, including Lompoc, from September 29 to October 2, 2017.
Want to visit up to twelve tasting rooms on an all-inclusive wine tasting pass?
Get a Harvest Experience Passport for unique and complimentary wine and culinary offerings at your choice of twelve participating tasting rooms from Friday – Sunday. When you purchase your passport, you will select your preferred pick-up location. You will print out the ticket receipt, take the receipt to your chosen winery/tasting room, and exchange the receipt for a Harvest Experience Passport ($50).
More than 40 regional wineries and tasting rooms are participating in the Passport. Those located in Lompoc include: Ampelos, Babcock, Cebada Vineyard, Fiddlehead Cellars, JCR Vineyard, Longoria Wines, Melville, Montemar, Pali Wine Company, Palmina and Zotovich.
Throughout the four day weekend many wineries host their own events, including open houses and vineyard hikes. Some of these individual events require reservations directly with the host winery. In Lompoc, don’t miss the Harvest Lunch & Barrel Tasting at Flying Goat Cellars on Saturday, from 11 am to 2 pm ($70). Enjoy the aromas of fresh fruit and fermentations underway that complement the seasonal winemaking activities. Winemaker Norm Yost will provide the edutainment while guests sip on 2016 barrel samples and a few library wines. The wines will be paired with a delicious lunch, offering vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
